Marrakech
Location
Riad Nashira & Spa is located in the north end of Marrakech’s old medina, just at the outskirts, so it has the advantages of being close to everything and enough away from the well known square Jamaa El Fn and its rowdy chaos.
If arriving late at night, or a woman travelling alone, make sure to book an airport transfer via the hotel.
Arrival
Standing on the small narrow lane, looking between the simple pink-red buildings, it can be difficult to imagine an oasis hidden behind the big dark wooden door. There are no signs or much else that draws any attention to the hotel.
Yet, after knocking on the door (no doorbells or electronic systems here), we were very warmly welcomed into safe and hospitable surroundings.
The staff were incredibly friendly and professional, doing all they could to give us the best experience. Our room was decorated with rose petals strewn throughout.
We received a sweet reception, despite arriving knackered at 1:30 am.
Design and decor
The design is a mix of clean, simple, exotic and Moroccan. A classic structure of rooms opening onto a central courtyard, under the open sky. There is a small restaurant, a bar and a couple of lounges near the pool area, as well as the atmospheric water basin filled with rose petals. There is plenty of room for all the occupants of the 15 rooms in the riyadh. I adore this oriental decor! I just can’t help thinking about Aladdin. It reminds me of a small temple, particularly with the many little birds that poke around, setting the perfect scene.
Ambiance
The mood is good. The emphasis here is placed on service and a job well-done. Unfortunately, you don’t get to know the staff very well. But, like the mood, everyone is sweet.
Room
The rooms are reasonably large and very charming. The style of the room is like the rest of the hotel, elegant with light colours. A nice light blue wall, grey curtains and some silver accessories.
The bathroom was delightful. I love a bathroom with two sinks and plenty of space, and this one had it all.
Spa
You have to treat yourself to a spa experience here because it is sooooo good!
The allotted space for the spa is substantial, taking into account the total size of the hotel.
In addition to the large and beautiful treatment area, is an indoor heated pool. Very modern and very Moroccan. I recommend a massage either before or after the treatment (a massage is always good, right?). Once more, the service is fantastic and the atmosphere exceptional.
Overall
